Main Responsibilities
The Own Brands Strategic Sourcing Department has an opening for a Senior Sourcing Manager.

The position will be based in Pleasanton, CA or Boise, ID. This position will be on- site Monday to Thursday and 1 flex day on Friday to work in the location of your choice.

Strategic Sourcing Category Leadership

  • Lead sourcing initiatives for high-complexity categories (commodities, markets, booking, hedging) with annual spend exceeding $150M, utilizing standardized processes established by the Strategic Sourcing Department.
  • Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise to support Own Brands business priorities through effective sourcing strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and suppliers across assigned categories and projects.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to implement sourcing strategies that ensure supply continuity while optimizing cost and quality.
  • Lead sourcing efforts for Own Brands innovation and new item development across multiple categories.
  • Identify and execute cost savings initiatives that enhance quality, service, innovation, and overall value.
  • Conduct industry analysis to identify trends and inform sourcing strategies.
  • Deliver accurate financial reporting of cost savings to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX policies and procedures established by the Sourcing Department.

Contracting & Financial Analysis

  • Develop, negotiate, and execute contract terms; collaborate with Legal Counsel to secure approval on legal provisions.
  • Analyze complex bid submissions and conduct advanced financial scenario modeling to support award recommendations for sourcing leadership and business units.
  • Summarize financial outcomes and present sourcing recommendations to senior management and business units.
  • Manage cost increase processes, including data analysis, supplier negotiations, and stakeholder communication.

Supplier & Risk Management

  • Mitigate financial risk through proactive inventory management and supplier collaboration.
  • Conduct supply assurance initiatives, including onboarding secondary suppliers to enhance category service levels.
  • Lead supplier transitions, ensuring accurate documentation, supplier setup, and liability management.
  • Manage supplier relationships, resolving issues related to pricing, supply assurance, and ongoing projects.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Motivate and guide the sourcing team in applying strategic sourcing tools and processes to achieve goals.
  • Train, manage, & mentor Sourcing Analysts to build expertise in industry dynamics, negotiation strategies, contract management, and financial modeling.
  • Develop deep product knowledge and understanding of category roles and business strategies within the team.

Education Level
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred.

Experience Level

  • 8 - 10 years' experience and the education listed above.
  • 8+ years of negotiating contracts, managing strategic supplier relationships and buying experience, preferably in Food & Beverage industries.

Skills And Experiences

  • Strong ability to negotiate internally and externally to achieve required objectives and execute and implement contracts.
  • Strong meeting management and facilitation skills.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing, distribution and logistics.
  • Exceptional complex analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of sourcing systems and preferable e-sourcing technology.
  • Advanced computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft BI. Ability to understand and work with multiple enterprise-wide systems.
  • Working knowledge of contract law, government policies and regulations for the food and drug industry.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship building and collaboration skills.
  • High energy level, initiative, creative problem-solving ability and sense of urgency.
  • Excellent team interpersonal skills and ability to handle multiple tasks while providing superior service.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to lead and/or mentor a small team.
