Salary Range: $60,000–$95,000 base (negotiable based on experience)

Role Summary

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the delivery of multiple capital projects from early design through commissioning and turnover. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, technically curious, strong in communication, and eager to grow into a full project management position. The APM works closely with the PM and cross-disciplinary teams engineering, contractors, vendors, operations to maintain project controls, track progress, and ensure timely, high-quality execution.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Coordination

  • Assist in daily project management activities for data center and mission-critical projects.
  • Support coordination between design teams, contractors, vendors, and operations stakeholders.
  • Attend OAC and internal project meetings; prepare agendas, minutes, and action logs.
  • Maintain awareness of design revisions, construction impacts, and risk items.

Project Controls & Documentation

  • Track schedules, milestones, and deliverables; flag issues requiring escalation.
  • Organize RFIs, submittals, and change events; ensure timely review and processing.
  • Support budget monitoring, cost tracking, and invoice verification.
  • Maintain project documentation within CFG's systems (Monograph, Teams, etc.).

Field & Vendor Support

  • Support site walks, progress inspections, and equipment startup observations.
  • Assist with coordination of factory witness testing, third-party testing, and commissioning prep.
  • Capture field photos, punch list items, and progress updates.

Client & Internal Reporting

  • Prepare weekly status updates, schedule snapshots, and risk logs for the PM and client.
  • Help develop presentations and executive-level reporting as required.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in construction, engineering, project management, or related fields.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • General understanding of construction documents, schedules, and cost controls.
  • Proficiency with standard software: Excel, Teams, project management tools.

Preferred

  • Data center, MEP-intensive, or mission-critical project exposure.
  • Experience with RFIs, submittals, drawings, and basic schedule reading.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.

  • Growing technical literacy in data centers, MEP systems, and project delivery.
