Position Overview:

We're looking for an enthusiastic Barista/Cashier to join our team at ViLand Coffee & Desserts. In this role, you'll craft delicious coffee beverages, serve our signature desserts, and provide outstanding customer service to create memorable experiences for our guests.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso, lattes, teas, and specialty drinks, following ViLand's recipes and quality standards.

• Handle cashier duties, including taking orders, processing payments, and ensuring accurate transactions via POS system.

• Greet customers warmly, answer questions about the menu, and make recommendations to enhance their experience.

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the coffee bar, dessert displays, and seating areas, adhering to health and safety guidelines.

• Assist with restocking supplies, coffee beans, pastries, and other inventory as needed.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy shifts.

• Promote seasonal specials and upsell menu items to enhance sales.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a barista or cashier preferred, but not required – we're happy to train passionate individuals

• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

• Knowledge of coffee / tea preparation techniques (steep, espresso, pour-over, etc.) is a plus.

• Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs.

• Availability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Food handler's certificate (or willingness to obtain one upon hire), preferred.
