Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shift Leader to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, and excellent customer service abilities. This role is vital in ensuring smooth shift transitions, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and fostering a positive team atmosphere. Prior experience in restaurant management, hospitality, or food industry leadership is essential to succeed in this position.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company standards.
- Lead and motivate staff through effective training, coaching, and performance management to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards.
- Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate order processing and cash handling.
- Control inventory levels, monitor stock usage, and coordinate with suppliers to maintain optimal inventory control.
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Assist in kitchen management tasks including food production, catering, banquet events, and bar operations when necessary.
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Support staff interviewing, onboarding, and ongoing training efforts to develop a skilled team.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas in compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with budgeting tasks and monitor operational expenses to support overall restaurant management goals.
Experience
- Proven experience in food service management or hospitality management roles, including supervising teams in quick service or fine dining environments.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen management, and food safety standards.
- Hands-on experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in staff training, team management, and shift supervision.
- Background in managing inventory control, budgeting, and operational workflows within a restaurant or catering setting.
- Prior experience working in casual dining, banquet services, hotel restaurants, or bar environments is highly desirable.
