Junior Linux System Administrator

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Junior Linux System Administrator to support the deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of our Linux-based systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate has at least one year of overall IT experience, a strong interest in Linux administration, and a desire to grow into a more advanced systems or DevOps position. This role will work closely with senior administrators and engineering teams to ensure system stability, performance, and security. TS/SCI required.

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux servers (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).
• Monitor system performance, resource utilization, uptime, and security logs.
• Support user and group administration, permissions management, and access controls.
• Apply patches, updates, and security fixes under the guidance of senior administrators.
• Help manage system backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Assist with server-side troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
• Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
• Support basic network administration tasks (DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls).
• Collaborate with IT and engineering teams on system improvements and automation needs.
