The Health & Wellness Director ensures delivery of quality assisted living services focused on maximizing residents' individual capabilities, implements and monitors effective Assisted Living systems; ensures clinical/health services are in compliance with community standards and State regulations, serves as a clinical resource for Community staff, in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures quality resident care is consistently delivered in accordance with all local, state and federal guidelines
  • Collaborates and partners with physicians, pharmacy and other medical professionals to promote quality care and independence for our residents
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training and leading all nursing associates including, but not limited to clinical care staff and medication technicians.
  • Conducts comprehensive resident pre-admission, admission and quarterly assessments in accordance with Elevated Estates policy and procedures.
  • Provide on-call support for the community
  • Ensures compliance, efficiency and team's understanding of policies and procedures
  • Maintains the standards of care practice within the community.
  • Assess and monitor residents' health care needs through appropriate actions, training, consultation, and delegation
  • Ensures compliance with all Elevated Estates policies and procedures that govern clinical services.
  • Order and maintain inventory of health-related supplies and equipment for residents.
  • Responsible for staff performance, staff recruitment, staff retention, and staff development.
  • Responsible for collaborating with other departments to ensure quality resident care and staff development.
  • Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a budget process for staffing and clinical services.
  • Evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of staffing and services within the goals of the community.
  • Serves as spokesperson for care giving matters and represents the community with a professional demeanor.
  • Participates in appropriate meetings.
  • Meets with families as requested.
  • Completes all mandatory compliance, HIPAA and state and federal regulatory training as required.
  • Maintains appropriate degree of confidentiality.

Education and Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience and a minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Quality assurance/improvement and staff development experience preferred. Must have current CPR certification, or obtain certification within 90 days of hire, and remain current during employment. Experience with a Memory Care Population a must. Must have current First Aid certification. Current active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required; Registered Nurse (RN) license is a plus.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Exhibit good time management and organization skills.
  • Possess the ability to handle complex issues.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Eldermark eMAR experience is a plus.
  • Uphold the principles of our mission.
  • Express compassion for residents, staff and guests on a consistent basis.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing administration practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing administration functions in an assisted living community.
  • Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the resident care department.
