Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and guide them to their tables with enthusiasm and professionalism
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clarity and attention to detail
• Provide menu recommendations, including wine pairings or specialty items, to enhance guest experience through upselling techniques like OpenTable reservations or suggestive selling
• Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation, food safety, and sanitation protocols
• Manage guest relations by addressing questions, special requests, or concerns promptly to ensure complete satisfaction
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while maintaining accountability for all sales
• Assist with food handling, bussing tables, resetting dining areas quickly during busy hours, and supporting kitchen staff when needed to ensure smooth operations

Skills

• Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on fine dining or upscale establishments
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and sales tracking
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and handle guest interactions professionally
• Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while multitasking between serving tables, taking orders, and processing payments
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling, billing, and transaction management
• Experience with reservation platforms like OpenTable or similar tools is a plus
• Previous host/host or serving experience in nightlife venues or restaurants is advantageous
• Knowledge of culinary terminology and kitchen operations can enhance service delivery
