A leading real estate firm based in Southern California is seeking a Maintenance Technician for an East Bay, CA apartment community. With the direction of the Property Manager, you will assist in overseeing a multi-family residential property owned by the company and be responsible for all maintenance aspects of the community. We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude, proven work experience as a maintenance technician in a multi-family community, and ability to serve the residents of the property for an optimal living experience.
*** Must have a proven-track record of turning/repairing units in a fast-paced environment.
Starting Hourly Pay: $28

Essential Duties:
Supervise the work of vendors and outside contractors
Turn all assigned units on a monthly basis
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner
Make needed repairs in units or in the common area
Oversee major capital improvement projects
Maintain the physical condition of the properties according to company operating and safety standards
Handle/delegate all maintenance related resident concerns
Attend and participate in technical and safety training programs to maintain personal skill level
Work with Property Manager to prepare schedules to ensure work is completed in a timely manner while remaining within budgetary guidelines
Under supervision of Property Manager, purchase supplies using standard purchase order system and proper bidding procedures
Monitor inventory of parts and supplies at appropriate levels
Requirements:
Minimum 5+ years in property management maintenance, other building maintenance or related trade
High school diploma or equivalent
Available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and early evenings
Ability to transport or move up to 50 lbs variable distances
Mobility and flexibility to use ladders and access work at heights in excess of 8 ft or in confined spaces
Ability to work outdoors in temperatures exceeding 100 degrees or below 40 degrees
Candidate MUST have reliable transportation and be able to occasionally travel to other properties throughout the South/East Bay Areas as needed.
Skills:
Must be able to diagnose problems and repair all major systems, including the following:
- Major appliances
- Basic-Intermediate plumbing
- Basic-Intermediate electrical (when no license required)
- Drywall
- General carpentry
- Roofs and gutters
- Painting (exterior and interior)
- Foundation maintenance and repairs
- Concrete/sidewalk repairs
- Pool care
- Pest control
- Ability to detect any maintenance problem and repair as necessary
Preferences:
HVAC (EPA Certification)
