Controls Engineer – Deckorators

Deckorators, a UFP Industries brand, is expanding with our newest and flagship manufacturing facility in Buffalo — a state-of-the-art extrusion and polymer operation powered by our Surestone technology. We're building something special, and this is your chance to help shape it from day one.

As our Controls Engineer, you'll lead automation strategy and implementation — programming PLCs and HMIs, developing SCADA/MES visibility, integrating Industry 4.0 solutions, and delivering reliable, efficient controls that keep production moving. In this role, you will:

• Build and program control systems for new equipment and extrusion lines

• Troubleshoot and optimize SCADA/MES/PLC performance

• Lead commissioning of new automation during plant startup

• Partner with Operations, Engineering & IT to improve uptime and throughput

• Train technicians and operators on safe system usage

• Drive new technologies that improve quality and OEE

What we're looking for:

• Industrial Controls / Electrical Engineering experience

• Strong PLC/HMI programming — Rockwell & Ignition strongly preferred

• SCADA/MES/IIoT integration background

• Manufacturing automation (plastics/extrusion a huge plus)

• Someone who can grow automation from first install → full maturity

Compensation & Benefit Information

Salary Pay Range:
$85,000-$120,000K annually dependent on experience*

*pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living

Bonus/Incentive Pay
:

Annual performance bonus opportunity based on Company and specific business unit ROI and PBOP achievement criteria and individual job responsibility and performance.
