Summary:

The Quality Assurance Nurse needs to have a strong nursing background with great assessment skills to provide the care needed to the residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates the quality of patient care.

  • Monitors compliance with current laws, process improvements, and implementation of clinical best practices.

  • Help train staff on new or improved clinical practices.

  • The position will set work schedules, delegate assignments, assign tasks and assist in evaluating employee job performance when requested by the Director of Nursing.

  • QA Nurse will assist in setting goals and standards for the facility.
  • Aide in supervision of the nursing department and dining rooms, as delegated.

  • Weekly wound measurements and documentation

  • Completing skill competencies
  • Monitoring weekly/monthly weights
  • Tracking immunizations
  • Promote the physical and emotional well-being of skilled nursing facility residents, ensuring a coordination of quality care, from pre-admission through discharge.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with residents, resident representatives and members of the Interdisciplinary Team
  • Work in collaboration with the IDT to ensure accurate and timely completion of all Medicare documents in order to maintain regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 2 years' experience in LTC/SNF care.
  • One (1) year experience Preferred as a QA Nurse or Nurse Manager
  • Must follow State and Federal Regulations
  • Must have clinical experience, prior administrative experience, and training in both nursing and management.
  • Must have strong communication skills, diplomacy and the ability to take leadership of any situation
  • Must be able to lead and direct employees.
  • Must have strong communications skills and able to talk with physicians, residents, families and outside entities.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to review documentation to ensure proper care is provided to the residents you are responsible for.
