Build projects that matter

For more than 65 years, Lindsay Construction has played a central role in shaping Atlantic Canada's communities and critical infrastructure. As a Canada's Best Managed Company and Gold Seal Certified organization, we are trusted to deliver complex, high-stakes projects for clients who demand excellence.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the VP Operations, you will lead multidisciplinary teams including project coordinators, engineers, superintendents, and self-perform crews, while overseeing projects that require exceptional planning, documentation, safety discipline, and stakeholder coordination.  In this capacity you'll lead teams, manage risk and deliver projects that meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and accountability.

Why This Role Is Different

Using procurement models including Design-Build, Construction Management, and General Contracting, you'll manage work where planning precision, constructability and execution excellence truly matter.

What We're Specifically Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following environments:

  • Department of National Defense (DND) projects
  • Healthcare or highly regulated institutional facilities
  • Secure, operational, or occupied buildings, including schools
  • Multi-residential
  • Light Industrial

In addition, experience navigating security clearances, controlled sites, detailed reporting requirements, and multiple stakeholder layers is a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead with safety first. Champion a culture where safety is embedded in planning, execution, and daily decision-making, working closely with Safety Advisors to exceed regulatory and internal standards.
  • Deliver client confidence. Maintain strong, transparent relationships with clients throughout the full project lifecycle, particularly in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
  • Build and lead teams. Mentor and develop project staff while fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Own project delivery. Oversee schedules, budgets, contracts, and execution strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Manage project complexity. Coordinate schedules using Microsoft Project; manage financial and progress reporting with precision.
  • Support project pursuits. Collaborate with Estimating, Pre-Construction, and Business Development teams to shape winning strategies and execution plans.
  • Uphold standards. Execute all work in alignment with the Lindsay Business Management System, holding teams accountable to consistent, high standards.
  • Contract excellence. Draft and negotiate clear trade and supplier contracts, minimizing scope gaps and managing risk proactively.

What You Bring

  • 8–10+ years of progressive project management experience in construction.
  • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing complex, regulated, or institutional projects (DND experience strongly preferred).
  • Deep understanding of estimating, scheduling, contracts, procurement, and construction methodology.
  • Strong leadership presence and the ability to earn trust with clients, consultants, trades, and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality or safety.

Why You'll Want to Work Here

  • A respected, collaborative team that values experience and judgment.
  • Local projects with long-term stability.
  • Flexible work hours, including early "Lindsay Fridays".
  • Competitive salary and Annual Incentive Plan.
  • Comprehensive health benefits.
  • Group RRSP with 4% matching.
  • Personal health and wellness reimbursement.
  • Strong community involvement and social events.
