We are looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Jacksonville, Florida. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring that our inventory management begins with accuracy and integrity. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving deliveries, meticulously verifying quantities and contents against purchase orders, inspecting for any damage or discrepancies, and accurately documenting all received items into our system. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to upholding our high standards for safety and efficiency within the warehouse. This position is crucial for maintaining the flow of goods within our logistics network.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices.
- Inspect all incoming products for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Accurately record all receiving information into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Properly tag and stage received items for put-away or distribution.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, drivers, and internal departments regarding receiving issues.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and audits as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk, Warehouse Assistant, or in a similar role is required.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, particularly inventory and WMS software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs regularly.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Understanding of general logistics and supply chain processes.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
