We are looking for a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our warehouse team in St. Louis, Missouri. This role is essential for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all shipping regulations. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, labeling packages, and verifying shipment contents. This position plays a critical role in our overall logistics operations, ensuring that our products reach their destinations promptly and securely. We are committed to maintaining a safe working environment, and strict adherence to all safety protocols is a requirement. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation (e.g., Bills of Lading, packing slips).
- Verify that all items picked match the shipping orders.
- Accurately label packages with shipping information and tracking numbers.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain shipping logs and records for audit purposes.
- Communicate with internal departments and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all DOT and other relevant shipping regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related warehouse/shipping role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and online carrier portals.
- Strong understanding of shipping documentation and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to perform tasks that involve some physical activity, including occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
- Willingness to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE ) as needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
