Our St. Louis, Missouri facility is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our dedicated team. This vital role ensures the efficient and safe movement of goods throughout our warehouse. You will operate forklifts to transport materials, load and unload trucks, and assist in maintaining organized inventory. A strong emphasis on Safety, attention to detail, and proficiency with various types of forklifts are essential. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trailers and containers accurately and efficiently.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items to and from designated areas.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Follow all company Safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to housekeeping standards.
- Perform occasional manual Lifting as needed.
- Understand and apply principles of efficient warehouse Logistics.
- Ensure the safe handling and storage of all materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator (minimum 1-2 years).
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proficiency in operating multiple types of forklifts.
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and labels.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to workplace Safety.
- Experience in Logistics or supply chain environments is a plus.
Working Conditions:
This position operates in a dynamic warehouse setting with frequent forklift operation. Employees are required to wear specific PPE and adhere strictly to all Safety protocols. The role involves physical activity, including operation of machinery and occasional manual tasks. A solid understanding of Logistics and commitment to a safe work environment are key.
