As a Picker/Packer, you will be responsible for locating specified items, carefully picking them from inventory, and then securely packing them for shipment. Your attention to detail and speed are critical to ensuring customer satisfaction and the overall efficiency of our logistics network. The ideal candidate is motivated, works well independently and as part of a team, and is committed to upholding safety standards. You will be actively navigating the warehouse, utilizing various tools to retrieve and prepare orders. Responsibilities:
- Accurately retrieve items from designated warehouse locations based on order specifications.
- Inspect products for any damage or defects prior to packing.
- Pack items securely using appropriate materials to ensure safe transit.
- Print and affix shipping labels correctly.
- Operate hand trucks or other manual equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work station and surrounding areas.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety guidelines and the proper use of PPE.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts when required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, order picking, or packing role is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret pick lists accurately.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Capability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Familiarity with general logistics practices.
- Dedication to workplace safety, including the correct use of PPE.
This role mandates strict adherence to safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and the consistent use of PPE, essential for our logistics operations in New York City.
