We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficient management of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for developing and implementing inventory control procedures, conducting audits, analyzing data, and resolving discrepancies. A thorough understanding of logistics and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential. Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures and policies.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, optimize stock levels, and reduce waste.
- Manage and maintain the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for inventory accuracy.
- Oversee the receiving and put-away process to ensure proper inventory flow and storage.
- Coordinate with purchasing and operations teams on inventory needs and adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety regulations and promote a safe work environment, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Train warehouse staff on inventory control best practices.
- Prepare reports on inventory status, accuracy, and discrepancies for management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role.
- In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles and logistics operations.
- Proficiency with WMS and inventory control software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and proper PPE usage.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
