We are looking for a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, playing a critical role in managing our inventory and supporting our logistics operations. Your responsibilities will include unloading trucks, verifying incoming goods against purchase orders and shipping documents, inspecting items for damage, and accurately recording received products into our inventory management system. Efficient and accurate receiving is essential for maintaining optimal stock levels and preventing discrepancies. You will work closely with other warehouse personnel to ensure a seamless flow of goods into the facility. Maintaining a clean and organized receiving area is also a key part of this role. We emphasize workplace safety , and all employees are required to adhere to established safety protocols and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE ). This position involves regular standing, walking, and the ability to handle lifting of items up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks.
- Verify contents of shipments against invoices and purchase orders.
- Inspect received goods for damage and discrepancies.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label received products.
- Organize and store received inventory in designated locations.
- Maintain a clean and safe receiving area.
- Communicate any receiving issues or discrepancies to management.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety guidelines.
- Properly use all required PPE .
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience as a receiving clerk or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software or systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of warehouse procedures and basic logistics .
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE .
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
