Join our vibrant logistics team as a Receiving Clerk in Austin, Texas. This role is crucial for managing the initial stage of our inventory flow, ensuring that all incoming goods are processed accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for receiving deliveries, verifying shipments against purchase orders, inspecting products, and entering data into our system. A keen eye for detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding safety standards are key to success. Your accurate work forms the foundation for our downstream logistics and inventory management.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming shipments.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Document any discrepancies, damages, or short-shipments.
- Enter receiving data into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) promptly and accurately.
- Tag and label incoming items as required.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away or distribution.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments regarding receiving activities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in inventory control activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving, inventory, or warehouse setting is beneficial.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with WMS are advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of basic logistics and supply chain principles.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and wearing PPE.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills.
