We are seeking a certified and skilled Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse in Kansas City, Missouri. This role is essential for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our facility. You will operate forklifts to load and unload trucks, move inventory, and assist in order fulfillment processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong safety record, be reliable, and possess excellent control of powered industrial trucks. Your expertise is crucial to our daily logistics operations and the overall safety of the warehouse.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move and stack inventory within the warehouse.
- Transport materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure they are in safe working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with order picking and staging as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Support overall warehouse logistics and operational goals.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Forklift Operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Demonstrable knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
- Willingness to wear required PPE.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
