Join our fast-paced logistics team as a Material Handler in the heart of Chicago, Illinois! We are looking for strong, reliable individuals to manage the movement and organization of materials within our warehouse. This role is essential for maintaining efficient workflow and ensuring the timely supply of materials to various departments and for shipment preparation. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts and other heavy machinery, loading and unloading trucks, organizing inventory, and assisting with general warehouse duties. The ideal candidate possesses excellent physical stamina, a keen eye for detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and railcars.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Organize and stack materials in a safe and orderly manner.
- Assist with inventory management, cycle counting, and stock rotation.
- Ensure materials are properly identified and labeled.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Identify and report any unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize material flow and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting of materials up to 75 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and material flow.
- Proficiency in operating various types of warehouse machinery.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all regulations.
