Our Madison, Wisconsin location is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the accuracy of our warehouse stock. This critical role ensures that our inventory levels are precise, supporting efficient logistics operations and minimizing discrepancies. You will be responsible for tracking inventory movement, conducting regular audits, and implementing strategies to improve inventory accuracy. A keen eye for detail, analytical skills, and a commitment to safety are essential. Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels across the warehouse using WMS.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to verify stock accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and efficiently.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to prevent loss and damage.
- Track the movement of goods, including receipts, shipments, and transfers.
- Identify and report on slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to optimize space and accessibility.
- Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to forecast inventory needs.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper Lifting and handling of materials, and use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehousing, or a similar role.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including Lifting up to 50 pounds, as needed.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain best practices.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
