Our Portland, Oregon facility is looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dedicated team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our distribution center. This role is essential to our logistics operations, ensuring that inventory is properly handled and staged for various warehouse functions. A strong focus on safety, operational efficiency, and adherence to company policies is paramount. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and stage materials.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers efficiently and accurately.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Maintain organized storage of inventory, ensuring proper placement and accessibility.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
- Support other warehouse operations and tasks as directed.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or proven experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
- Strong understanding of logistics and material handling principles.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
