We are seeking a diligent Material Handler to support our busy logistics facility in Madison, Wisconsin. This position is essential for the smooth operation of our warehouse, involving the movement and organization of materials throughout the facility. You will be responsible for ensuring that materials are transported efficiently and safely, contributing to the overall productivity of our distribution center. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and stock incoming materials.
- Transport materials to and from production or shipping areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
- Assist in picking and packing orders, ensuring accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and proficiently, including required PPE.
- Perform routine checks on equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Support inventory control efforts by accurately staging and tracking materials.
- Contribute to team efforts to meet daily logistics goals.
- Follow all established safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a warehouse environment is advantageous.
- Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks is a plus.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Understanding of basic logistics and warehouse operations.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE usage.
