We are seeking a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Madison, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately preparing and dispatching outgoing shipments. Your duties will include verifying orders, packaging items securely, generating shipping labels, and coordinating with carriers. Key Responsibilities:
- Verify outgoing orders against shipping manifests and customer orders.
- Package products securely and efficiently, selecting appropriate materials.
- Generate shipping labels and ensure correct addressing and documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Load finished shipments onto outgoing trucks.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments processed.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and carriers regarding shipping status.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is a plus.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier portals is advantageous.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate lifting (up to 40 pounds).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order processing.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of using PPE.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Reliable and punctual.
