We have an immediate opening for a skilled Forklift Operator at our Portland, Oregon facility. This position is integral to our daily warehouse operations and logistics , ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered industrial equipment to transport, stack, load, and unload inventory. Your keen attention to detail and commitment to safety are crucial as you navigate the warehouse environment. Key duties include performing pre-operational checks on equipment, maintaining organized storage areas, and assisting with inventory counts. You will work collaboratively with the warehouse team to meet operational demands and maintain productivity targets. Compliance with all company safety policies and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE ) is mandatory. The role requires the ability to handle lifting of materials weighing up to 50 lbs and the capacity to work in a dynamic, sometimes fast-paced setting. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload pallets and materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Transport inventory to and from designated locations within the warehouse.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and accuracy checks.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines rigorously.
- Wear and utilize all required PPE at all times.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics team.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management systems.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including consistent lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with various types of forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Commitment to wearing and using all necessary PPE .
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
