Are you a proven leader with a passion for efficient warehouse operations? We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to manage our bustling facility in New York City, New York. This role demands strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of logistics, and a commitment to fostering a safe and productive work environment. You will oversee daily operations, manage a team of warehouse associates, and ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and on time. Your ability to motivate your team, implement best practices, and maintain high standards of safety and efficiency will be key to your success.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct daily activities of warehouse staff.
- Ensure efficient order picking, packing, and shipping processes.
- Manage inventory levels and conduct regular cycle counts.
- Train and mentor new and existing employees.
- Enforce all company policies, including safety procedures and the proper use of PPE.
- Optimize warehouse layout and workflow for maximum efficiency.
- Monitor and manage shipping schedules and carrier relations.
- Implement and improve logistics strategies.
- Conduct safety audits and promote a culture of safety awareness.
- Handle employee performance issues and provide constructive feedback.
- Manage equipment maintenance and ensure its safe operation, including forklifts.
- Assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving in the warehouse.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Facilitate a positive and collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Logistics or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices, including proper lifting techniques and PPE requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse software.
- Physical ability to perform warehouse duties when necessary, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
