Are you a detail-oriented individual looking for a key role in warehouse operations? We're hiring an Order Picker in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to accurately and efficiently fulfill customer orders. Your primary responsibility will be to pick items from warehouse shelves based on order specifications, ensuring accuracy and speed. This role is essential for our logistics chain and requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. You'll be instrumental in getting the right products to our customers quickly and correctly.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse locations according to order sheets or scanner data.
- Verify picked items against the order to ensure accuracy.
- Pack orders carefully to prevent damage during transit.
- Stage picked orders for the packing or shipping department.
- Operate picking equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, order pickers) safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of picking areas and aisles.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Meet established picking productivity targets.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or issues to a supervisor.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, contributing to overall logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a warehouse environment is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and understand order forms, pick lists, and product labels.
- Proficiency in using RF scanners or similar technology is a plus.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure order accuracy.
- Understanding of safe material handling practices and general logistics.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following PPE guidelines.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
