We are looking for a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to manage outbound shipments from our Dallas, Texas facility. This role is vital for ensuring that all products are accurately prepared, documented, and dispatched to our customers on time. You will work closely with the warehouse team and carriers to streamline the shipping process, maintain records, and resolve any shipping-related issues. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to operational efficiency are essential for success in this position. Your role in our logistics chain is critical to customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels and documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with carriers for pick-up schedules and requirements.
- Verify outgoing shipments against orders to ensure accuracy.
- Inspect packages for damage before shipment.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the shipping log.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Assist in loading trucks when necessary, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Communicate with internal departments (e.g., sales, warehouse) regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or issues in the shipping process.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or administrative support preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers and shipping software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Familiarity with common carrier requirements and documentation.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE protocols.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
