About the Candidate
We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Graphic Designer and changemaker who takes pride in producing high-quality work and delivering their projects right first time. Working predominantly on our Construction Technical Excellence College (CTEC) marketing collateral, part of Sunderland College’s Housing Innovation & Construction Skills Academy, you will play a key role in supporting its marketing and brand across print and digital channels, while also supporting the wider Creative Team at Education Partnership North East. You will use initiative to manage your own workload, meet deadlines and continuously improve creative output, contributing to creative projects such as brand development, photography and video. As a valued member of the Marketing & Communications team, you will actively support promotional activity across CTEC and the wider college.
About the Role
Working closely with the Creative Studio Lead and Graphic Designer, you will deliver high-quality design for print and digital channels in line with CTEC and EPNE marketing strategies, supporting the ongoing development of the CTEC brand. The role involves supporting internal teams with engaging print and digital design, editing photography (and ideally video), managing shared digital assets, and assisting with the maintenance of digital systems that promote courses, events and opportunities. You will work collaboratively with curriculum, marketing and external stakeholders, including the Department for Education, while supporting events, managing design-related administration and contributing positively to a solution-focused team.
Role Responsibilities
Produce engaging on- and offline designs in line with CTEC and EPNE marketing strategies, maintaining and developing brand standards, while using initiative and creativity to solve complex challenges and deliver effective outcomes.
Edit photographs and video for use across digital and traditional platforms, supporting the wider Marketing & Communications department to plan, source and capture image, video and other creative content.
Build and maintain positive relationships with external agencies, printing partners, and stakeholders to coordinate, deliver, and share CTEC and EPNE marketing assets effectively.
Support the Creative Team and wider Marketing and Communications Team when needed at key points of the year and during busy periods.
Qualifications
Undergraduate Degree in a related discipline or relevant design experience.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) with strong skills in image manipulation, retouching, and print/digital design.
Extensive knowledge of pre-press and post-press production processes.Strong understanding of branding, ensuring consistent visual identity across all marketing materials.
Experience working with MacOS.
Strong conceptual and creative thinking, with the ability to generate ideas, present concepts, and communicate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills.
