SUMMARY
The IT Technician provides technical support and assistance to county government departments, ensuring the proper functioning of computer systems, networks, and related technology infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining security protocols, and supporting end-users to ensure continuous and efficient operations across all county departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Provide first- and second-level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and software applications.
· Respond to and resolve help desk tickets in a timely and professional manner.
· Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
· Support the county's network infrastructure including routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and cabling.
· Ensure cybersecurity measures are followed, including antivirus updates, user access controls, and regular system patches.
· Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory and other systems.
· Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and user guides.
· Coordinate with vendors for equipment repairs or software support when needed.
· Set up technology for public meetings, presentations, and events as required.
· Assist in IT projects, system upgrades, and technology rollouts.
· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal data security regulations.
· Serve as county website administrator
· Assist with establishing the annual budget for Information Technology
QUALIFICATIONS

· Associate's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Bachelor's preferred).
· 1–3 years of relevant IT support experience.
· Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic networking.
· Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, and ticketing systems.
· Strong customer service and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Must complete the pre-employment screening process.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

· Ability to type accurately; learn and apply procedures of the County Board;
· Ability to apply purchasing principles and practices for cost effective procurement of equipment, supplies and services.
· Ability to work independently and efficiently.
· Ability to exercise reasonable judgment on making decisions in accordance with laws and apply departmental policies and procedures.
· Ability to provide information and assistance utilizing sound judgment, courtesy, and tact.
· Ability to prepare and maintain complete and accurate files.
· Ability to establish and maintain a satisfactory working relationship with co-workers and the general public.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40, $60,000.00 per year
