Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures with precision and care.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly following infection control protocols.
- Take digital dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Manage patient records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems Dentrix, ensuring all medical documentation is complete and compliant with HIPAA standards.
- Provide excellent chairside assistance using aseptic techniques and knowledge of dental terminology to support efficient procedures.
- Uphold infection control standards through proper sterilization procedures and maintaining a clean clinical environment in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively within a team to maximize efficiency and patient comfort.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a dental setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry dentistry practices.
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays (including digital imaging), and understanding dental terminology is essential.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix enhances workflow efficiency.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and medical terminology ensures safe patient care.
