Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Duties

• Assist orthodontists during procedures such as bracket placement, adjustments, and appliance installations using four-handed dentistry techniques
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
• Take and develop X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper safety measures and accurate medical imaging documentation
• Manage patient records utilizing EMR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
• Record dental records during orthodontic treatment sessions
• Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions and post-treatment maintenance
• Assist with medical documentation and coding related to dental procedures for accurate record keeping
• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilize instruments according to infection control standards
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient communication as needed

Experience

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is preferred, but not mandatory
• Preferred dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental imaging, and note taking
• Experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, and other advanced imaging tools is advantageous but not mandatory
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety

Pay: $ $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
