Job Title: Software Developer III - Robotics
Department: Software
Supervisor: Director, Software Development
Job Purpose:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Developer III with a focus in Robotics to join our warehouse automation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing scalable solutions using C#, React, and T-SQL within a Microsoft technology stack. This role is crucial to building and maintaining applications that streamline warehouse operations, improve inventory management, and enhance overall efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain warehouse automation software using C# and .NET technologies.
- Build intuitive and responsive user interfaces with React, integrating seamlessly with backend APIs.
- Write efficient and optimized T-SQL queries for data manipulation and reporting in Microsoft SQL Server.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including operations, IT, and warehouse staff—to gather requirements and deliver robust solutions.
- Implement best practices in coding, testing, and deployment to ensure high reliability and performance.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues, providing ongoing support and enhancements.
- Participate in code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to architectural decisions.
- Ensure security, scalability, and maintainability of all software components.
- Document technical designs, codebase changes, and system configurations.
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years using C# and .NET.
- Proven expertise in React for building modern web applications.
- Proven experience in designing Warehouse Automation systems.
- Strong skills in writing and optimizing T-SQL queries for Microsoft SQL Server.
- Demonstrated experience working in warehouse automation, logistics, or similar operational environments is preferred.
- Deep understanding of the Microsoft technology stack (Azure, DevOps, Visual Studio, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Extensive experience in warehouse automation technologies.
- Experience with cloud-based solutions (Microsoft Azure).
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms.
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and integration.
- Agile/Scrum development methodology experience.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks.
Working Conditions:
- Travel on an as needed basis.
- Some weekend/night work required as needed.
- Working in an office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities.
- Working in a stationary position for an extended period.
- Moving or traversing for an extended period.
- Occasional ascending and descending scaffolding and/or mezzanines.
- Operating computers for an extended period.
- Possible exposure to noise levels exceeding recommended DBA levels.
