Job Description

Job Title: Software Developer III - Robotics

Department: Software

Supervisor: Director, Software Development

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Developer III with a focus in Robotics to join our warehouse automation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing scalable solutions using C#, React, and T-SQL within a Microsoft technology stack. This role is crucial to building and maintaining applications that streamline warehouse operations, improve inventory management, and enhance overall efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain warehouse automation software using C# and .NET technologies.
  • Build intuitive and responsive user interfaces with React, integrating seamlessly with backend APIs.
  • Write efficient and optimized T-SQL queries for data manipulation and reporting in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including operations, IT, and warehouse staff—to gather requirements and deliver robust solutions.
  • Implement best practices in coding, testing, and deployment to ensure high reliability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues, providing ongoing support and enhancements.
  • Participate in code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to architectural decisions.
  • Ensure security, scalability, and maintainability of all software components.
  • Document technical designs, codebase changes, and system configurations.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years using C# and .NET.
  • Proven expertise in React for building modern web applications.
  • Proven experience in designing Warehouse Automation systems.
  • Strong skills in writing and optimizing T-SQL queries for Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Demonstrated experience working in warehouse automation, logistics, or similar operational environments is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of the Microsoft technology stack (Azure, DevOps, Visual Studio, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Extensive experience in warehouse automation technologies.
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions (Microsoft Azure).
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms.
  • Familiarity with RESTful API design and integration.
  • Agile/Scrum development methodology experience.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks.

Working Conditions:

  • Travel on an as needed basis.
  • Some weekend/night work required as needed.
  • Working in an office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities.
  • Working in a stationary position for an extended period.
  • Moving or traversing for an extended period.
  • Occasional ascending and descending scaffolding and/or mezzanines.
  • Operating computers for an extended period.
  • Possible exposure to noise levels exceeding recommended DBA levels.
