Bi-lingual Spanish Speaking Activites Coordinator:

We are looking for an outgoing, optimistic, and compassionate Activities Coordinator to schedule and coordinate events, activities, and outings. The actvivities coordinator will create and handle the logistics for daily, weekly, and monthly events to engage clients. They will speak to participants to get feedback, manage employees, volunteers, and resources, and deliver fun, safe events while on time and under budget. Ideal candidates should be detail-oriented and possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills. Must also be comfortable with personal care for participants as needed. PCA or CNA background is a plus.

To succeed as a activities coordinator in our Adult Day Center you should strive to stage entertaining, engaging activities that will appeal to the age and physical or emotional condition of the client. You should be observant, driven, creative, and caring.

Activities Coordinator – Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Planning and leading fun daily, weekly, and monthly activities that bring joy, laughter, friendship, and a little relaxation into everyone's day. That means everything from bingo, karaoke, crafts, and birthday parties to exciting outings – bowling, museums, parks, picnics, restaurants, or just an ice-cream trip to make memories
  • Making sure EVERY resident can join in, whether they walk on their own, use a walker, or are in a wheelchair. We adapt everything with love so nobody feels left out.
  • Handling all the behind-the-scenes magic: phone calls, reservations, transportation, creating beautiful flyers and announcements, staying on budget, keeping supplies stocked, training and cheering on volunteers and staff, and making sure the day runs smoothly.
  • Keeping an eye on our residents during activities – watching their smiles, seeing who's having the best time, gently asking "Did you enjoy it?" and gathering feedback so every event gets even better. Not everyone has to participate, but we do everything with heart to invite and persuade even the shyest ones (and yes, most end up dancing or laughing).
  • Keeping clear, organized records: attendance, favorite activities, little notes about what worked, any incidents (falls, behaviors, etc.), so we're always improving.
  • Quickly reporting any medical concerns or changes you notice to the nursing team.
  • Making sure every event is fully prepared: snacks, water, materials, extra hands – everything ready, staff trained, on time, and within budget.
  • Following and enforcing all safety rules with care (safety first, always).
  • Jumping in to give direct resident care whenever it's needed – because we're family here.
  • Stepping up as interim Executive Director if he/she is ever out.
  • Helping the Executive Director with whatever else is needed to keep the day running happily and smoothly.

We're not just planning activities – we're creating moments of joy, connection, and dignity every single day

Activities Coordinator Requirements:

  • Minimum of a High school diploma and Fun-Loving Attitude
  • Education or experience in healthcare, PCA or CNA background is a plus, recreational activities, event planning, or related fields may be preferred.
  • Job training and first-aid and CPR training
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Physical fitness, ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands.
  • Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent resource management, computer, record keeping, interpersonal, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds.
  • Flexibility to work when needed
  • Willingness to adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.

If you are looking forward to making a positive impact on the community and the people we serve we encourage you to apply.
