Auto Technician

Job Summary

Looking to hire 2 technicians, and also field motivated technicians for current operations, plus business expansion(new shops opening soon).

1)Hiring one position for Rockaway, the bay/workspace is a flush mount alignment rack, and adjacent to our tire installation center. Jobs will include, but not be limited to: Oil changes, vehicle maintenance, tires/alignment, brake jobs, suspension, tune-ups. We use modern software (Tekmetric) to conduct multi-point vehicle inspections on every job that comes in. This shop has been in Rockaway for almost 14 years, and we have tons of work coming in. Our customer base is amazing, and always growing to meet demand. With 2 full time managers and 4 technicians, jobs run smoothly and you will always be busy, but work to your own pace. For truly motivated workers I can use an incentive pay plan to reward high productivity. All I expect is that you work with focus, effort, a good attitude, and consistent attendance. Pay can be matched to whatever you are currently earning, with plenty of room to scale and grow, and earn more money.

2)Technician Position #2 - Currently outfitting and setting up a 3 bay shop with downstairs additional open shop space, tons of parking. Location is Rt 202 in Morris Plains, right between route 80 and route 10. Looking for an overall "B" tech who will work in the shop with one of my A techs. Friendly shop atmosphere, should have your own complete set of tools and toolbox, for specialty tools required they can be borrowed, or supplied by the shop.

3) Looking for an experienced car detailer as well. Looking to have a detail center at the shop in Morris Plains, and will need someone that knows how to conduct proper detailing on all vehicles. Shop will supply consumables(washing/waxing/cleaning materials, etc) and we can discuss what tools you have for specialized paint correction, polishing etc.

Duties

• Perform detailed diagnostics using schematics and automotive electrical systems to identify issues accurately(For those of you who do not possess advanced diagnostics skills, training and resources are available, but we will not give you jobs that you are not comfortable with). The main focus is to get work output done, and there are other techs to diagnose. This can be a great way to build your diagnostics skills as well, and the other techs are very helpful, plus one of the managers is a former A tech who can offer some training or insight when needed
• Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, and other powertrain components
• Execute vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, and fluid replacements.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and acetylene/oxygen torches
• Repair or replace auto body components as needed to restore vehicle peformance and safety standards.
• Conduct wheel alignments to ensure optimal vehicle performance. -ADAS calibrations also performed at this business, but offsite at a local warehouse. Can train ADAS systems, but it is not required of the technician
• Follow manufacturer specifications and safety protocols during all repair procedures.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and communicate effectively with customers regarding their vehicle's condition and required services.

Experience

• 4-5+ years experience is highly preferred.
• Extensive mechanic experience with a focus on automotive electrical systems, powertrain repairs, and vehicle diagnostics.
• Hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance routines and the use of various hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction. This position offers an opportunity for experienced auto technicians to apply their skills in a professional environment dedicated to quality service and continuous improvement.

Pay: $ $40.00 per hour
