Maintenance Technician / Handyman / Driver

The Assistant Company has been retained by a New York–based CEO to recruit an experienced Maintenance Technician / Handyman / Driver to support the estate maintenance team in the care of private residences in Manhattan and Greenwich, Connecticut and to drive the family as needed (vehicle provided).

The ideal candidate currently resides in New York or New Jersey and can easily commute to Manhattan and, as needed, Greenwich, CT. This role is responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance, cleanliness, and working order of multiple properties, buildings, grounds, equipment, and supplies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks including landscaping, HVAC, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting
• Repair and maintain walls, showers, sinks, appliances, emergency equipment, locks, doors, cabinets, desks, closets, windows, hinges, and related items
• Assist with moving furniture and equipment
• Assemble and dismantle cubicle partitions as needed
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Safely operate hand and power tools
• Comply with all company policies and procedures
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Work a rotating schedule, including occasional long or irregular hours

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 3 years of building or estate maintenance experience, or a combination of equivalent education, training, and experience
• Fluent in both English and Spanish (required)

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong English comprehension, reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• HVAC certification required
• Basic electrical skills, including effective use of a multimeter
• Ability to perform Level 4–5 drywall finishing
• Strong maintenance and repair skill set across multiple trades

Physical & Working Conditions

• Ability to intermittently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
• Continuous standing, walking, balancing, grasping, and repetitive use of hands and arms
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching overhead, crouching, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders
• Occasional crawling
• Exposure to dust, dirt, chemicals, electrical equipment, high places, outdoor weather conditions, and household pets
• Operation of hand and power tools
• Flexibility for occasional extended or nontraditional work hours

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 60 per week
