Sushi Chef

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, with expertise in sushi preparation, knife skills, and food safety. This role involves creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for presentation and flavor, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests. The Sushi Chef will also assist with menu planning and ensure all food handling practices adhere to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to food safety standards.
• Handle all aspects of food preparation including slicing, rolling, and plating sushi items.
• Manage inventory levels of ingredients and supplies needed for sushi preparation.
• Assist in menu planning to introduce new sushi options that align with customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures are followed at all times.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service during busy hours.
• Uphold the restaurant's standards for presentation, taste, and customer satisfaction.

Skills

• Proven experience in culinary arts with a focus on Japanese cuisine or sushi preparation.
• Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cutting techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
• Experience in menu planning and innovative dish creation.
• Fine dining experience preferred, demonstrating attention to detail and presentation skills.
• Background in food service, catering, or restaurant environments is highly desirable.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
