Direct Support Professional

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. This role is vital in providing support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring they lead fulfilling lives while maintaining their dignity and independence. The ideal candidate will have experience in Autism and I/DD in a home setting and possess a strong commitment to individual rights and quality care.

Duties
As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the individual with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation and cleaning tasks
• Monitoring the health and well-being of the individual, including regular monitoring and reporting any changes to the appropriate personnel and guardian
• Supporting individuals in social activities and community involvement to enhance their quality of life
• Upholding rights by ensuring a respectful and safe environment for all individuals in your care.
• Collaborating with the support team to implement personalized care plans tailored to each individual's needs.
• Providing emotional support and encouragement to promote independence and self-esteem

Qualifications
To be considered for the Direct Support Professional position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• Experience with Autism and I/DD
• CPR / First Aid certification
• Knowledge and certification of medication administration protocols
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, support team and team members.
• A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others achieve their goals.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
• Valid driver's license ( with less than 5 points)
• Ability to pass BCI/FBI check
• Current auto insurance
• Must be able to work 3pm - 11pm Th/Fri/Sat/Mon/Tues
