Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Staff Software Engineer who will act as a technical leader and force multiplier for our engineering team. This is a high-impact individual contributor role with mentorship responsibilities. You will own major features end-to-end, set architectural direction, and drive engineering excellence across our full stack.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance features using our core stack: Azure SQL, .NET 8+, ADO.NET, Entity Framework Core, ASP.NET MVC/Web API, , and TypeScript.
  • Lead complex projects from requirements to production while mentoring senior and mid-level engineers
  • Champion an "AI-first" mindset: proactively leverage Copilot, Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot Workspace, or any emerging AI tool to accelerate design, code generation, refactoring, testing, and documentation. We measure velocity – using AI is not optional, it is table stakes
  • Establish and enforce best practices around clean architecture, performance, security, and automated testing
  • Perform deep-dive code reviews, pair-program with the team, and unblock delivery bottlenecks
  • Collaborate with product management, DevOps, and QA to ship reliable code multiple times per week
  • Drive technical roadmaps and influence the evolution of our platform on Azure
  • Participate in on-call rotation (currently light; compensated with on-call stipend when implemented)

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of full-stack .NET experience in production environments
  • Expert-level proficiency in C#, .NET 8 (or later), EF Core, ASP.NET MVC, and Azure SQL (or equivalent)
  • Strong front-end skills with React 18+, ,TypeScript, and modern state management
  • Proven track record of designing and shipping large-scale, high-availability system
  • Deep experience integrating and leveraging AI coding assistants daily to 2–3× individual productivity
  • Excellent communication skills and a history of mentoring senior engineers
  • Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, concurrency, distributed systems)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, unit/integration testing, and monitoring/telemetry
  • Hands-on experience building or integrating with mapping and navigation platforms such as Google Maps API, Mapbox, HERE Maps, OpenStreetMap (OSM), ArcGIS, or similar geospatial technologies

Strongly Preferred

  • Familiarity with geocoding, reverse geocoding, routing engines, polyline rendering, real-time location tracking, or fleet/telematics applications
  • Experience working with GIS data formats (GeoJSON, KML, Shapefile) and spatial databases (PostGIS, Azure SQL spatial types, etc.) is a strong plus

Pay: From $160,000.00 per year
