Horizontal Directional Drill Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Horizontal Directional Drill Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating horizontal drilling equipment to install underground utilities and pipelines efficiently and safely. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy machinery, construction site safety protocols, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in construction and heavy equipment operation to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Operate horizontal directional drilling machines with precision to ensure accurate installation of underground utilities.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Coordinate with project managers and team members to plan and execute drilling operations according to project specifications.
• Safely operate heavy equipment.
• Assist with site preparation, including excavation and grading tasks as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe work environment on construction sites.
• Monitor drilling progress and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize delays.
• Maintain detailed records of daily operations, equipment usage, and safety checks.

Experience

• Proven experience operating horizontal directional drills in a construction or utility installation setting.
• Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and tankers.
• Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of safety standards and protocols.
• Commercial driving experience is a preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
