Direct Support Professional

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being in both home and community settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assisted living, senior care, or direct support, with a passion for helping others.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's quality of life.
• Help clients with mobility needs, including lifting and transferring as required.
• Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals.
• Support clients in engaging with their communities through social activities and outings.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
• Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel.

Experience

• Previous experience in assisted living, senior care, or home care is preferred.
• Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities or memory care needs is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others maintain their independence and dignity.
