Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, and excellent customer service abilities. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth shift transitions, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and fostering a positive team atmosphere. The Shift Leader will be responsible for managing staff, supervising food and beverage operations, and supporting overall restaurant management to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company standards.
  • Lead staff training and development initiatives, including onboarding new team members and ongoing skill enhancement.
  • Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate order processing and cash handling.
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock control, and coordinate with suppliers as needed to maintain optimal inventory.
  • Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed by all team members.
  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in scheduling staff shifts to meet operational needs while controlling labor costs.
  • Support kitchen management in food production, catering events, banquets, or special functions when required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work environment and ensure compliance with health regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in food service management or restaurant supervision within casual dining, fine dining, or quick service environments.
  • Strong background in food preparation, culinary techniques, and kitchen management.
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience is essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with previous supervisory or team management experience in the food industry.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and inventory control procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience in staff training & development, interviewing potential team members, and managing restaurant operations.
  • Hospitality management background including hotel or catering experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving and team leadership. This role offers an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals passionate about the food industry to lead a dedicated team while delivering memorable dining experiences.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
