Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, transmission flushes, air conditioner re-charges, front-end alignments, battery installations, and headlight/taillight installations. Maintain a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair. Conduct extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of customers' problems and provide accurate repair recommendations. Inspect vehicles according to the state's requirements for emissions and safety. Conduct necessary repairs and take vehicles for test drives to verify soundness. Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and for our records. Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety. Knowledge and experience with diesel engines is a plus

Duties

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics to identify issues accurately.
• Conduct repairs on powertrain components, transmissions, and vehicle electrical systems.
• Execute mechanical repairs including engine work, diesel engine repair, welding, and general maintenance.
• Carry out alignments, wheel balancing, and suspension work to ensure proper vehicle handling.
• Use hand tools and power tools efficiently for repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Maintain detailed service records and document repairs performed.
• Assist with auto estimating and communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and building trust with clients.

Skills

• Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong understanding of automotive repair processes.
• Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, ADAS, schematics, and diagnostics tools.
• Mechanical knowledge of powertrain systems, transmissions, diesel engines, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and alignment machines.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics for complex repairs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues accurately.
• Strong customer service skills to ensure positive client interactions.
• Experience with auto estimating software is a plus.
• Familiarity with GM vehicles is advantageous but not mandatory. Pay: $ $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 45.0 per week
