About the Platform
is building a next-generation educational + customer experience platform that helps seniors understand Medicare, compare plans, meet with licensed experts, manage their prescriptions, access policy documents, and receive AI-driven personalized guidance.
You will be the technical owner of the platform's backend architecture, APIs, integrations, authentication, data models, and AI systems. This role requires a high-level engineer who can design the system from the ground up, build quickly, and solve complex problems with clean, scalable code, while also formalizing a newly founded development department.
What You'll Build (Key Projects)
As the Full-Stack Lead, you will architect and implement core systems, including:
Phase I (MVP Foundation)
● Authentication system (HIPAA-compliant email, phone login)
● Video content system
● Medigap and Advantage Plan intake, underwriting logic & routing
● Rx hub (medication and pharmacy api)
● User database + Hubspot CRM two-way sync (tracking page views, form submissions, intake steps, video timestamps, etc.)
● Document vault (secure file storage)
● Clickstream & sentiment tracking system
● Personalized education engine
● AI ANOC review tool (document analysis)
● Rx Quoting price-check automation (monthly scans)
● Eligibility engine ("You are eligible to switch...")
● Loyalty levels + referral tracking
● A scalable core database designed to support multiple new verticals.
All will be built from the ground up outside HubSpot data, which currently stores all client and lead information.
Responsibilities
● Own back-end architecture and infrastructure
● Build and maintain REST/GraphQL APIs
● Integrate deeply with HubSpot, Calendly, LLM providers, LaPro, and Medicare APIs
● Build secure microservices for scoring, sentiment, notifications, and intake.
● Design and maintain database schemas (Postgres recommended)
● Implement authentication, encryption, and HIPAA-aligned best practices.
● Lead technical decisions for the platform.
● Work alongside a front-end engineer to deliver full features.
● Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code
● Assist with DevOps, deployment pipelines, and security monitoring.
Required Experience
● 5+ years in full-stack or backend engineering
● Strong in , Python, or Go
● Experience with frameworks like NestJS, Express, Django, or FastAPI
● Strong with Postgres or similar relational DBs
● Experience with LLMs (OpenAI/Anthropic) and embeddings
● Experience with HubSpot API, Calendly API, and OAuth flows
● Strong understanding of authentication & RBAC
● Experience with microservices and message queue systems
● Experience building HIPAA-grade or financial-grade systems (preferred)
● Ability to own a product end-to-end
Bonus Skills
● Experience with Medicare, insurance, or health-tech
● Experience building AI agents or AI-powered workflows
● DevOps (AWS, Docker, Vercel, serverless, CI/CD)
