Overview
We are seeking an accomplished and dedicated IT Project Manager - Senior to head critical Information Technology projects within a large, multi-hospital environment. This is a high-impact, contract role requiring specialized expertise in core clinical applications. The successful candidate will leverage extensive project management acumen to drive complex initiatives from inception through successful deployment, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and strict adherence to established methodologies.
Key Qualifications and Expertise
- Mandatory implementation experience with OpTime, Cupid, and Radiant within a large-scale, multi-hospital system.
- Extensive, proven experience managing large, complex IT projects end-to-end.
- A minimum of six years of previous experience working on information technology project teams, specifically focusing on obtaining customer requirements, conducting rigorous analysis activities, and ensuring project execution.
- Bachelor's degree is required. Proof of education must be submitted with your application.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is strongly preferred.
Summary of Role
The Project Manager will operate under the direction of Information System leadership, exercising independent judgment and significant experience to navigate complex project landscapes. You will be instrumental in defining user demands, establishing critical work priorities, and maintaining a clear trajectory for project success.
Core functions include:
- Execute projects using PMO methodologies and processes, ensuring robust management of scope, schedule, resources, and budget.
- Act as the primary interface, gathering and evaluating user conceptual needs, documenting requirements, and securing commitment from various stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive project schedules and cost estimates.
- Coordinate and participate in all phases of the system development lifecycle (analysis, design, coding, testing).
- Ensure all system changes are fully and thoroughly tested prior to deployment.
- Guarantee that users are fully trained and prepared for new systems, that associated guidelines and procedure requirements are met, and that implementation is coordinated seamlessly.
- Maintain meticulous project issue logs and provide clear, concise status reports and accomplishments to Information System management and local steering teams, highlighting progress on critical path items.
- Support Information System business planning requirements, including budgeting, scheduling, and meticulous workload planning.
- Adhere strictly to the established PMO methodology and processes to lead and manage multiple large-size projects from initiation through closure.
- Take full accountability for creating, monitoring, and managing the project scope, resource allocation, and budget.
