Direct Support Professional

If so, then we encourage you to apply for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) position with the Fort Monmouth Day Program
Our DSPs provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a variety of settings in the community and our facility.
We are looking for individuals who are patient, understanding, and have a passion for helping others. Our primary focus is to engage all program participants and help them develop skills for everyday living.
Shifts Available: 9am to 3pm
Location: Oceanport
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
- Implement individualized support plans that focus on social skills, communication, and behavioral development.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to foster connection and engagement.
- Monitor and document client progress, making necessary adjustments to support plans.
- Collaborate with families and team members to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment during evening and overnight hours.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, compassionate, and adaptable demeanor.
- High school diploma with qualifying experience
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a background check/Drug Screen
