Job Summary
we are a privately owner practice looking to add a Dental Assistant to our growing practice. Your role is to support dentists in providing comprehensive dental treatments, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and creating a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. Your expertise in dental procedures, patient communication, and infection control will help us maintain the highest standards of oral health care. Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support and managing dental materials.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology and medical imaging equipment while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Manage patient records efficiently by updating medical documentation, medical records, and ensuring accurate medical coding within electronic health record with Eaglesoft.
- Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout treatment sessions to ensure safety and well-being.
- Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care instructions, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness.
- Support the front desk team as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, confirming patient information.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols by following established sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
- Assist with specialized procedures across various disciplines such as endodontics or oral surger.
- Ensure seamless clinic operations through effective communication with team members about patient care plans and treatment progress.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry practices.
- Strong knowledge of dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, infection control, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or comparable platforms for managing medical records and documentation.
- Ability to operate X-ray machines safely while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards for patient confidentiality.

- Skilled in taking vital signs and performing basic medical assessments to support patient safety during treatments.
- Knowledge of advanced dental technology but we will train if neede.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Certification in radiography (X-ray) is required; additional certifications such as CPR or infection control training are preferred.
- Ability to uphold high standards of aseptic technique and infection control practices consistently.
