Position Overview
As a Wealth Advisor, you will become the primary trusted advisor for a select group of clients. The ideal candidate possesses strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and a deep understanding of comprehensive financial planning. A CFP designation and 3-5+ years of relevant industry experience are strongly preferred.
Candidates may work remotely, with limited travel as needed. Atlanta based candidates may have additional opportunities for in person collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn the Firm's Process and Culture
Internalize the firm's mission, values, and client first philosophy. Use these principles to guide all decisions.
Learn and consistently follow our internal systems, workflows, and operating standards to ensure collaboration and high quality client service.
Shadow team members across Billing, Trading, Client Service, and meeting preparation and follow up.
Complete training on our CRM and other core systems. Demonstrate proficiency by proactively managing tasks, preparing for meetings, and delivering on client commitments.
- Develop Mastery Through Training and Role Play
Conduct prospective client meetings by uncovering goals, gathering financial data, setting expectations, and creating an exceptional client experience.
Explain the firm's compensation, fiduciary responsibilities, and investment philosophy clearly and confidently.
Discuss active versus passive investing, ETFs, mutual funds, and individual securities in an understandable way.
Build proficiency in retirement planning software and communicate planning concepts clearly to clients.
- Lead and Support Client Relationships
Attend client meetings alongside a lead advisor via Zoom, phone, or in person sessions as needed.
Prepare all meeting materials and execute follow up items accurately and on time.
Build strong relationships with clients and earn their trust through consistency, empathy, and proactive communication.
Contact referrals, gather introductory details, and evaluate prospective client fit.
Anticipate client needs and resolve issues proactively.
Create and present comprehensive financial plans.
Prepare 401(k) allocation recommendations for wealth management clients.
Draft clear, concise summary letters after client meetings.
Deliver unbiased advice, simplify complex financial concepts, and guide clients through important financial decisions.
Identify opportunities to deepen relationships and expand wallet share through exceptional service.
Apply behavioral finance principles to help clients make sound long term decisions.
Offer objective guidance on insurance needs, including term versus permanent life insurance, disability insurance, and long term care coverage.
Serve as a broad financial resource, connecting clients to specialists when needed.
- Support Firmwide Initiatives and Cross Functional Projects
Participate in client events, virtual education sessions, and firm wide marketing initiatives.
Cross train with the Qualified Retirement Plan team.
Participate in a weekly networking group to build professional relationships.
Seek opportunities to simplify processes and enhance the client experience.
Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Professional Growth Expectations
Within 2 years, train and mentor new advisors.
Within 3 to 4 years, assume leadership responsibilities and oversee a team of advisors.
Qualifications
CFP designation.
3 to 5+ years of direct experience in financial planning, investment management, or wealth management.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
Ability to simplify complex concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
High attention to detail and strong follow through.
Emotional intelligence and a client centered mindset.
Proficiency with planning software, CRM systems, and advisory technology.
