Automotive Service Advisor

Overview
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dynamic dealership team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services, ensuring a seamless and positive experience. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage service operations efficiently. Prior dealership experience and automotive service management skills are highly valued.

Duties

• Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing their vehicle needs
• Explain repair and maintenance services clearly, providing accurate estimates using auto estimating tools
• Coordinate with technicians to prioritize and schedule repairs, ensuring timely service delivery
• Upsell additional services and maintenance based on vehicle diagnostics and customer needs
• Write detailed service reports and maintain accurate service records
• Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently
• Assist customers with vehicle inspections, oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, suspension work, alignments, shocks & struts, diesel engine repairs, air brake systems, and other automotive repairs
• Manage customer follow-ups to ensure satisfaction and foster repeat business
• Maintain knowledge of current automotive repair techniques including transmissions, auto body repair, auto diagnostics, and mechanical knowledge

Skills

• Proven dealership experience with auto service management or similar roles
• Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
• Ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity
• Experience in auto estimating, service writing, and automotive sales
• Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems such as transmissions, oil changes, brakes, suspensions, tires, shocks & struts, diesel engines, air brakes, alignments
• Familiarity with mechanic work or service technician experience is a plus
• Proficiency in cash handling and point-of-sale systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple customer needs efficiently
