Daeda Systems is a rapidly growing automation and robotics company specializing in custom machinery, controls integration, and advanced fabrication. We are expanding our team and seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician who can support machine builds, system integration, and R&D projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems on the shop floor, wiring control panels, assembling mechanical systems, and working closely with engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the assembly, wiring, and integration of custom automation equipment and robotic systems
- Build, terminate, and troubleshoot control panels, field wiring, and sensor/actuator networks
- Support mechanical builds: fabrication, machining, alignment, system testing
- Work with PLCs, HMIs, drives, and motion components (Allen-Bradley experience a plus)
- Assist with prototype development, testing, and documentation for new machines and systems
- Perform equipment diagnostics, system startup, and onsite commissioning as needed
- Maintain shop organization, inventory, tools, and build readiness
- Collaborate with engineers on design improvements and production efficiencies
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in automation, industrial machinery, electrical systems, or related roles
- Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Experience reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Experience wiring controls: sensors, relays, breakers, drives, PLC I/O, etc.
- Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical issues efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow build documentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and Ethernet/IP
- Basic knowledge of robotics (Fanuc, UR, Epson, etc.)
- Mechanical fabrication skills (milling, turning, welding, 3D printing)
- Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and motion control
- Prior experience in machine building or custom automation environments
